REGULATIONS
Article 1 – Registration
Registrations are limited. Registration is by application and must be validated by the organization. A team is registered when they have filled out the form on our website, completed payment, and when the organization validates their registration via email.

Article 2 – Teams
Teams consist of a maximum of 10 players (6 players minimum) and preferably one coach.
During the tournament, each team will play a minimum of three matches, in pools of 4.
The captain or coach of each team is expected to be the representative and the sole contact person with the organization.
⛔️ Each player must present a valid ID (driver’s license, passport, identity card) to verify their age.
⚠️ It is strictly forbidden for a player to participate in the tournament on two different teams, under penalty of disqualification for the teams concerned.
Article 3 – Equipement
Each team must bring two sets of jerseys.
Article 4 – Tournament Progression
Matches will take place in the Maurice Fouques and Victor Vinde gymnasiums in Caen.
- Sunday, starting at 9:00 AM: U21 Men’s Tournament.
There will be no break at lunchtime; matches will run continuously. Therefore, precise schedules will be communicated to each team the day before.
Tournament format:
- The top two teams from each pool will advance to the Quarter-finals Playoffs.
- The bottom two teams will go to the Quarter-finals Playdowns.
- All matches from the quarter-finals onwards will be single-elimination.
- There will be no classification matches for other teams.
At the end of the day, there will be contests, followed by the finals to conclude the day.
Please respect the schedules; it’s very important for a smoother running event for everyone: players, organizers, and spectators.

Article 5 – FIBA
The rules applicable to the QO (presumably Qualification Tournament) are those in force with FIBA, with the exception of the points specified below.
Article 6 – Referees
Referees are officials recruited by the organization. However, players or coaches from participating teams will also need to assist with certain refereeing duties.
⚠️ It is possible to bring a referee from your club.
Article 7 – Score Table Operators
Score Table Officials (STO) are also designated by the organization. However, players from participating teams will also need to assist with certain score table duties (chronometer, scoresheet, etc.).
⚠️ Please have each team designate volunteers to help at the table on the day of the event.
Article 8 – Game Time
Matches are played in 2×10 minutes (unstopped time), with the clock stopping in the last minute of matches. No stoppages for free throws except in the last minute.
In case of a tie, there will be overtime, with the rule of the first team to score 3 points.
Article 9 – Time Out
One one-minute timeout per half during matches.
Article 10 – Substitutions
Substitutions are made on the fly, exclusively on offense (behind the ball), and the outgoing player must exit first, under risk of a warning, then a technical foul if the order is not respected.
They must also make physical contact (check).

Article 11 – Fouls
Four individual fouls per player.
Small exception: at the QO, you cannot play with fewer than 5 players. In this case, if the last fouled player cannot be replaced, two free throws and possession will be awarded for each subsequent foul.
Article 12 – Disqualification
Any unsportsmanlike conduct, violence (verbal or physical), the passivity of teammates in case of unsportsmanlike conduct by one of them, or disputed interventions on the outcome of a match will result in the disqualification of the team or players by the Staff.
Article 13 – Defense
Zone defense and defensive three seconds are prohibited. Their interpretation is left to the referee, who may issue a warning in case of infringement. In case of recurrence, a technical foul may be inflicted.

In case of a tie, the following criteria will be considered in order: head-to-head goal difference, general goal difference, points scored, points conceded, best offensive performance in a single match, and finally, best defensive performance in a single match.
Article 15 – 3-Point Contest
The rules are simple: one player per team has 60 seconds to make 3 baskets from 5 spots.
The two best scores advance to the finals; in case of a tie, it will be decided by sudden death.
Article 16 – Dunk Contest
The Dunk Contest always takes place at the end of the afternoon.
Each participant has 2 dunks in the first round, with a maximum of 1 minute to complete each dunk.
The two best cumulative scores advance to the finals, for two dunks each.
Scores are determined either by audience applause or by a jury of 3 to 5 members designated by the organization.
The organization will have the final decision in case of a dispute!!!!!

Article 17 – Insurance
Players are under their respective civil liability and that of their club. The organizers decline all responsibility in case of accident, damage, or theft that any person may suffer during their participation in or attendance at the tournament.
Furthermore, the tournament is fully covered by its civil liability insurance.
Article 18 – Refunds
You will be eligible for a full refund of tournament fees if you cancel via email before June 15, with no additional delay. Beyond this deadline, no refunds will be issued.
Article 19 – Accommodation
The organizing committee does not provide accommodation for teams.
Article 20 – Food
Fast food with dishes, halal sandwiches, fries, cold drinks, etc., will be available during the tournament.
Article 21 – Transportation
We do not cover transportation expenses. All teams must travel to the different sites by their own means.
The transportation of delegations will be under their responsibility.
