The Quartier Ouest association, in partnership with ASPTT Caen Basket, is proud to announce the first edition of its QO Next Gen U21 tournament, taking place on Sunday, June 22, 2025, in Caen (14), Normandy.

This ambitious event aims to offer a unique opportunity for young male and female basketball players to shine in a high-level tournament. The goal is to create a platform to promote access to basketball, while strengthening community ties around this unifying sport.

The winner will earn a ticket to the Quartier Ouest 2025 tournament, scheduled for the weekend of June 28 and 29, 2025!

About the Tournament

Our organization is a national and international reference in the organization of basketball events.

Tournament Format: The tournament will feature 5-on-5 men’s competitions with between 8 and 16 teams. This event is open to clubs, associations, or simply teams of friends. This system guarantees a great diversity of matchups and fierce competition, while offering participants the opportunity to compete against teams from various backgrounds, whether they are clubs or informally formed teams.

Atmosphere and Entertainment: To make this event even more spectacular and attractive, we have planned a rich program of activities and entertainment. Throughout the weekend, participants and spectators can enjoy:

  • 3-point and dunk contests.
  • Musical entertainment with Afro and Hip-hop DJs to maintain a dynamic and festive atmosphere.
  • Speakers to highlight the energy and excitement of the public.

Who We Are

ASPTT Caen Basket, with nearly 250 licensed members, is a training club where the spirit of competition coexists with respect for others. Located in Caen, Calvados, its flagship team plays in Nationale 3.

The Quartier Ouest association, founded in Normandy, is a major player in the organization of sporting events, particularly in basketball. With over 15 years of existence, it has established itself as a reference both in France and internationally. It is particularly recognized for its ability to organize events that bring together professional and amateur players from around the world: France, Europe, Africa, USA, and Asia.

Among the association’s flagship events, the Quartier Ouest (QO) International Tournament stands out as one of the three largest street basketball tournaments in Europe. Each year, it attracts basketball enthusiasts, young talents, and iconic figures of the sport, such as Nicolas Batum, the French international player currently with the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA. This tournament has become a must-attend event for basketball fans, who can discover talents from various backgrounds while immersing themselves in street basketball culture.

The association also organizes youth camps, humanitarian missions, and other events aimed at promoting basketball at all levels. Quartier Ouest continues to play a key role in the development of the sport in France and abroad, offering unique opportunities for young basketball players to progress, while strengthening international ties through high-level sporting exchanges.

The proceeds from this event will be used to finance and strengthen our actions in Africa through the « Just A Kid From Africa » program, providing material, financial, and logistical support.

What is the QO Next-Gen?

The QO Next-Gen U21 basketball tournament, open to the male category, is a major event that brings together young basketball players under 21. Specifically, it is for players born in 2004 or earlier, offering a real opportunity for young talents to compete in a high-level competitive setting. However, this tournament is not limited to basketball clubs only. It is also accessible to associations and groups of friends, allowing anyone passionate about basketball, even without a club affiliation, to participate in this great sporting celebration. Note that U18 players can also take part in the competition, offering a wide range of athletes of different levels and ages, all united by their love of basketball.

The tournament takes place in a dynamic and friendly atmosphere, where the joy of the game and the spirit of competition harmoniously coexist. Whether you are a budding professional player or simply a group of friends passionate about basketball, this event offers a platform where every team, regardless of its level, can fully express itself. Clubs and associations will be present to showcase confirmed talents, while teams of friends will have the opportunity to challenge more experienced teams, in a spirit of camaraderie and exchange.
