Le mondial U16-U18 is an unofficial international youth competition that represents their nationalities and/or origins. Sport is a fantastic tool for social cohesion, which through its values promotes a feeling of belonging and harmony between people.
Please note, our objective is to get as close as possible to a real international competition.
PRESENTATION
The ………. club in partnership with the Quartier Ouest association and its solidarity program Just A Kid From Africa is organizing the 1st edition of the U16-U18 Basketball World championship from Friday July 5 to Sunday July 7, 2024 has ………….
The Quartier Ouest association is a national and international reference in the organization of basketball-related events. For example, the Quartier Ouest tournament is one of the three most important street basketball tournaments in Europe.
The first edition of this 5-on-5 basketball tournament will bring together 8 teams per category.
In addition to sporting performances, we are working to give an ever more spectacular dimension to our event, by adding a more streetball character.
For this, the weekend will be punctuated by matches, competitions (dunks, 3pts), entertainment, dance shows, and all to music by our Hip-Hop and Afro DJs.
The tournament will take place on 1 or 2 gymnasium, ensuring the smooth running of the tournament, as well as welcoming players and the public.

WHO ARE WE ?
The Quartier Ouest association, located in Normandy, has more than 15 years of existence to the point of being considered a reference in France and internationally, in the organization of sporting events linked to basketball. Among the latter, we can find courses for young people, humanitarian missions, but also tournaments, the most famous of which is called the West Quarter. This event brings together professional and amateur players from all over France, Europe, Africa, the USA, and even Japan. We were able to see French international Nicolas Batum, player for the NBA team the Philadelphia 76ers.
Sapsnshoes is a structure which brings together:
– A sports and urban media, sapsnshoes.com.
– A brand inspired by the codes of fashion, Streetwear and Sport.
– But also a total of 10,000 followers, on Facebook and Instagram.
The profits from this event will be used to finance and support our actions in Africa via the Just A Kid From Africa project, by providing our material, financial and logistical support.
JUST A KID FROM AFRICA
The main objective of this program is to combine two factors that are very important to us: Education and Sport.
The missions that we wish to pursue are broken down according to the following objectives:
–Support for education, youth support, environment and sport institutions.
–Accompaniment and Support to the national and international sports movement.
Our strong points :
–Education: Our activities include support for education and training projects, as well as the development of programs and tools related to this, as well as accompaniment and support to organizations for artistic and cultural projects.
–Social action: Sustainable development will be one of our priorities from a long-term perspective, integrating constraints linked to the environment and the functioning of society via awareness-raising actions.
–Women’s sport: The project aims to establish itself as a springboard for African women’s sport, particularly through a range of competitions entirely dedicated to women.
We therefore wish to confirm our attachment to the women’s cause, by mobilizing our energies, our capital, our skills and our organizational capacities to develop this sporting branch on African soil.
–Health and Adapted Sport: One of our objectives is to offer activities that are suitable on a mental and physical level, in continuity with the care provided by medical establishments.
In addition to doing good for the body, practicing a sport often allows people who are convalescing, isolated or with disabilities to find a social connection.
Our charitable projects already carried out
A donation for Haiti, in partnership with the association Accueil et Partage.
Sending two containers of basic necessities to the capital Port-au-Prince, following the terrible earthquake which devastated this island in 2010.
Sending sports and educational materials to multiple destinations:
-In 2015, to the city of Rabat (Morocco).
-In 2016, donations for a church based in Alexandria (Egypt), which has been welcoming Sudanese refugees for around thirty years.
-In 2009, and since 2019, towards the Democratic Republic of Congo.
-Since 2016, annual shipments to Cameroon.
In partnership with the Heart of L.A. Foundation, donation of tickets to allow young people from disadvantaged neighborhoods in Los Angeles to attend NBA games and play on the floor of the Staples Center.
In France, through various partnerships, multiple aids for people in difficulty, particularly for migrants in the Ouistreham area with an order for around a hundred electric blankets.

PROGRAM
This year, many players from the four corners of France and Europe will be at the U16-U18 World Cup.
The Sunday activities will once again be very exciting, with competitions (3Pts/Dunks), an Afro and Hip-hop dance demonstration, in addition to distinguished guests and many surprises.
FRIDAY: Start of the tournament, Times 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
SATURDAY: Time for the 2nd day, Hours 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
SUNDAY: Meet at noon for the ranking matches followed by the grand final at 6 p.m., without forgetting the 3pts and Dunk competitions.
